In 1993 I was fortunate enough to work on the south coast of Turkey and on one of my days off I travelled to a town called Alanya, where I came across a PADI dive centre and decided that I wanted to try scuba diving. Well let’s just say that that the moment I submerged underwater in the Mediterranean Sea I knew exactly what I wanted to do. After successfully completing my Open Water Course, I signed up for loads of other courses in by 1996 I had become a PADI Instructor and had been fortunate enough to work in some of the worlds most beautiful dive locations.
Through the years I had been fortunate to own my own dive centre in southern Mozambique and share my passion with many other like minded people. In 2000 I lost my dive centre to the floods in Mozambique and took a hiatus of about 5 years.
In 2005, my passion for scuba was re-ignited and I started teaching scuba in Durban under NAUI with Scuba Club. in 2007 I opened “Dive3 Scuba Training, Travels & Charters”. In that time I have broadened my horizons by moving to Scuba Schools International and in 2014 I moved to RAID International as a Instructor Examiner.
I found that RAID International’s training this suited the way I teach and we have fully embraced the technical/recreational style of diving and teaching.
In 2020 I rebranded “Dive 3” into D3 Total Diver Evolution and we opened a retail facility in Westville Durban, we provide a one stop solution to all our clients by providing bespoke training in all disciplines from recreational scuba, leadership and technical diving. We also provide “buy-once” solutions to gear sales, ensuring that our clients’s heart grows with them as their dive journeys take them in different directions.
My passion is to bring people into the incredible lifestyle that scuba diving introduces us to and to facilitate that journey, I find that my approach to teaching and scuba diving is almost holistic. I am super passionate about conservation and introducing young people to the magnificence of our oceans.
