The\u00a0RAID Sidemount Diver<\/strong>\u00a0is a modern program designed to include all the current Sidemount procedures suitable for cave, technical and recreational dives.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
Sidemount, although invented for cave diving, has become a mainstream recreational and technical equipment configuration. It allows for longer dives and provides the diver with an increased level of redundancy due to carrying two independent cylinders.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
\n
The program may be combined with other\u00a0RAID<\/strong> programs to \u201ctailor-make\u201d a program based on student needs and aspirations. This Combo is the Sidemount combined with Deco 40. The only requirements are that all prerequisites have been met and that the hours and minimum standards for both courses have been met and adhered to.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sidemount Program Overview<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

  • <\/i>Divers may dive to their maximum current certification depth, but may not exceed a maximum depth of 40 meters \/ 130 feet.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    Divers May Use:<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    \n
      \n
    • <\/i>Two correctly configured sidemount cylinders.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>Air, nitrox, oxygen and trimix (where applicable)<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>The END\/EAD for trimix must not exceed 30 metres\/100 feet.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>The PO2 of any gas used may not exceed 1.4.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>Divers may only complete no decompression dives.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>The rule of thirds (or sixths where appropriate) must be strictly observed when managing gas.<\/span><\/li>\n
    • <\/i>The\u00a0RAID\u00a0<\/b>Sidemount course is a not a decompression or overhead program.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      • <\/i>There is a minimum of 1 confined water skill session and 2 open water dives.<\/span><\/li>\n
      • <\/i>The minimum in water time is 1 hour in confined and 3 hours in open water.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        \u2b50 It is an extremely flexible program allowing instructors to complete the skills when they feel their students are ready. The program is not dedicated to one style of sidemount diving.
